You will learn to cook typical Sicilian pastries and desserts at one central location restaurant and devour your creations at the end. Your pastry chef will be there to answers all your questions and to share with you the important signs witnessing the influence of the Arab's tradition, incustoms and in the eno-gastronomical culture, which can be seen till today. You will learn cookingrecipes for Cassata & Cannolo. Both pastries are date back to the time of Arab Domination. Anindependent transfer to a local Restaurant (centrally located) in Taormina to meet the Pastry Chef. The Chef will introduce you the importance of Arab domination in Sicily. Then you will start the cooking class with the Cassata Cake, the most important traditional Sicilian cake made of ricotta cheese, sponge cake and candied fruit. Very easy to make and fun to decorate as you like best. Then we continue with another important Sicilian recipe: Sicilian Cannoli. The Cannolo consists of tube-shaped shells of fried pastry dough, filled with a sweet, creamy filling usually containing ricotta cheese and chopped succade. At the end of the lesson, you will be able to taste the desserts made by yourselves, accompanied by adessert wine suggested and described by the sommelier. |
