Wine Tasting Experience on Mount Etna in Sicily Italy

The Barone di Villagrande winery is situated on mount Etna at 700 m a.s.l. The winery overlooks the vineyards, which stretch to the sea in a natural amphitheatre. This land belongs to Nicolosi Asmundo family from time immemorial. The rare mt Etna wines, appreciated since 1727 from national and international markets, are produced here. You will visit the cellar and the vineyards before the tasting of wines and traditional local sicilian dishes. The tasting ends with a sweet wine: since more than 10 years the Villagrande winery is indeed present even on the Island of Salina, where produces Malvasia delle Lipari Passito wine.

Service: Guided tour of the cellar with multilingual guide. Wine tasting: 2 white wines, 2 red wines, Malvasia delle Lipari with almond leaf tea. Buffet with local products, depending on season: local bread with olives and onions, S. Agelo di Brolo salami, Pepato cheese, white and black olives, dried tomatoes, bruschetta with tomatoes and onions, vegetables omelette, aubergine parmigiana and roast potatoes.
Details and information: Tastings take place every day from 10:00 (start-time) to 12:00 (end-time) between March, 1st and December, 31st. From May,1st to September, 30th tastings and guided tour of the cellar also in the afternoon from 17:30 (start-time) to 19:00 (end-time). The vinery is situated in Milo (Catania) in Via del Bosco, 25. GPS coordinates: 37° 42' 49.70" N -15° 66' 59.41" E. The products we offer in the buffet are subject to variations depending on their availability in local markets and/or on season.
