The tour starts at Rifugio Sapienza (1900 m) on Etna’s southern side. From here, the cable car will take you up to 2500 m, where your private exploration of the volcano begins.

Choose between two fascinating itineraries:

• Option 3000 m – Barbagallo Craters and Valle del Bove
  A scenic trek across the 2001 lava flow to the Barbagallo Craters (3000 m).
  Witness the majesty of the summit craters, with the rumble of fumaroles and volcanic activity all around. After a panoramic stop, continue toward the 2002 craters and a lava tube, then return to the cable car for descent.
  
  
• Option 3340 m – Etna Summit Craters
  From the cable car station, board a 4x4 vehicle up to 2850 m, the starting point for the trek to Etna’s summit at 3340 m.
  Accompanied by your volcanology guide, walk across volcanic sands and lava flows to reach the central craters, “La Voragine” and “Bocca Nuova”, experiencing the raw power of the volcano up close. The descent continues along a sandy slope down to 3000 m and then by cable car to the base.
